Tasty Tiramisu Protein Pancakes
Protein and caffeine delivered in the form of delicious, fluffy pancakes? Yes, please! These tiramisu protein pancakes are the perfect weekend treat to bump up your morning protein and satisfy that sweet tooth.
If you use a high-quality whey protein, this recipe will make a stack of pancakes with a full 30 grams of protein. Add an Allo protein-boosted coffee or tea for an extra 10 grams and you’re well on your way to your intake goals with your first meal of the day.
Tiramisu Protein PancakesOur recipe is a spin on The Protein Chef’s Tiramisu Protein Pancakes With Frosting. While the Greek yogurt and cream cheese frosting is delicious, you can make the pancakes with or without it, they will be amazing either way. For this recipe, you will need a blender or food processor as well as a large frying pan or a griddle. You can make the pancakes vegan by using aquafaba instead of egg whites, plant-based milk, a vegan butter extract, and just skipping out on the cottage cheese. As for the flour, you can use whatever kind of all-purpose flour you like, but if you’re looking to avoid gluten, we suggest coconut flour. While the main tiramisu flavors will still shine through no matter what flavor of protein powder you use, we recommend either vanilla, chocolate, or an unflavored type; although, as always, experimentation is encouraged. You can also play with the flavor of the frosting by trying different types of sweeteners or adding a few drops of a flavor extract or even some food coloring to give your pancakes a pop of color.
